A K-9 unit and her handler saved the day after a girl was abducted by an unknown man.

The Rancho Cucamonga Police Department wrote on it's Facebook page that K-9 Deja and her hander, Deputy Josh Stone, responded to a call about a 16-year-old girl being taken from her home by a man at approximately 3 a.m. on Tuesday.

Police said drag marks and the girl's purse were found nearby. Deja was able to track the girl's scent through a wooded area, leading investigators to a house.

Officials said Deja would not budge from the spot outside the home, and investigators eventually found the girl and the suspect inside.

The girl was released to her mother.

The 18-year-old suspect was arrested for kidnapping, domestic battery and unlawful sex with a minor.

"Great work by K-9 Deja and the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Station," the department wrote in the Facebook post.
