Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore made a jaw-dropping prediction during a panel discussion on Bill Maher's HBO show.
"I’m sorry to have to be the buzzkill here so early on, but I think Trump is gonna win," said Moore, explaining how he thinks Trump can defeat Hillary Clinton.
The Flint, Michigan native argued that people in his state and other Rust Belt states like Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Ohio are frustrated economically.
He said that the surprising Brexit vote could foreshadow a victory by a Trump with a similar message.
"Mitt Romney lost by 64 electoral votes. The total electoral votes of those four states in the Rust Belt? 64. All he has to do is win those four states," said Moore, adding that Trump's message about factories moving out of the U.S. was "music to people's ears" before the Michigan primary.
Maher said he's glad Moore is putting forth that opinion, believing that "the enemy is complacency" for Democrats who might believe that Trump has no chance to win.
Moore endorsed Bernie Sanders during the Democratic primaries, but said he will support Hillary Clinton in the lead-up to Election Day.

In a conversation with Megyn Kelly a few months ago, Moore warned Democrats that Trump needed to be taken seriously and said the idea of him winning the White House was no longer a "joke."
He also expressed concern that Republicans would enthusiastically turn out for Trump, while Democrats may not for Clinton.
