Hume: What Hillary and Obama WON'T Say About Attacks on Police

Newt Gingrich joined On the Record to talk about the Republican National Convention, saying that Donald Trump's wife Melania, a headline speaker of the evening," is "living proof that Donald Trump is not anti-immigrant."

"He's just for legal immigration," Gingrich said.

Gingrich also weighed in on the push by Never Trump delegates to change rules about bound delegates, saying "There's a point when you say, 'Get over it.'"

"They did everything they could. He won fair and square. And the American model, usually, the guy that wins fair and square you unify around, because that's what a party's all about."

Gingrich also said he hopes that Sen. Ted Cruz will decided to endorse Trump, saying that the presumptive GOP nominee showed "generosity" in giving Cruz a speaking spot at the convention.

As for Ohio Gov. John Kasich's no-show at the convention, Gingrich said he was "totally perplexed" by the governor's behavior.

"It makes no sense at all," he said.
