A police officer shot a suspect outside baggage claim at Dallas Love Field.

Police said the officer intervened in a domestic disturbance in which a man was throwing rocks at a car belonging to the mother of his child.

Police said the black male suspect was holding a large rock and dared police to shoot him before an officer opened fire.

Police said the officer fired after the suspect "rushed" toward him with the rock. The suspect, who has not been identified, was transported to a hospital, police said.

At least nine shots were fired outside the airport, sending passengers running away from the area.

A passenger posted the video on Instagram after arriving on a flight.

The airport has not been shut down.

Love Field was the city's main airport until 1974 when Dallas/Fort Worth International opened.
