Ashley's photos show that she asked her mom to move a calculator from her room to the mailbox for a friend.

While doing so, her mom apparently stumbled across a bag of brightly-colored capsules.

"What are these?" the mother texted with a photo of the "contraband." "Ashley Carol I will not have drugs in my house. Come home right now. As soon as your dad comes home from California we will discuss your consequences."

Ashley responded to the text with several laughing emojis and asked her mom to put the capsules in water.

Following her daughter's instructions, Ashley's mom sent another photo showing that the "drugs" were actually Magic Grow Capsules and had quickly turned into tiny dinosaur sponges.

"Never mind. You don't have to come home," she texted.

Ashley's tweet documenting the hilarious misunderstanding has been retweeted more than 34,000 times and liked more than 47,000 times.
