Omarosa defended Donald Trump against charges of racism, telling On the Record the presumptive GOP nominee would not become a poster child for racism.

She said that she would take Trump at his word when he said that his comments about Mexican-American Judge Gonzalo Curiel were misconstrued.

"And I also think it's important that I know him personally, and he certainly is not a racist, he doesn't have issues with people of color. And I think it's important to note that he will not become the poster child for race in this country."

The former Apprentice contestant said that Paul Ryan was "really not getting the point" about Trump's remarks on the judge and the lawsuits against him.

"The point is that Trump wanted a fair trial and he deserves that, and that's what our country guarantees and our justice system."
