While stumping in Indiana ahead of the crucial Hoosier State primary on May 3, Ted Cruz raised some eyebrows when he referred to a basketball hoop as a "basketball ring."

The gaffe was roundly mocked, with some saying it could actually hurt Cruz's chances in the basketball-crazy state, where legendary former Indiana coach Bob Knight is campaigning with Donald Trump.

"Jimmy Kimmel Live" devoted a segment to the incident on Wednesday's show, talking to people on the street to see if anyone else calls a basketball hoop a "ring" like Cruz.

The results weren't encouraging for the Texas senator...
