A new poll revealed that marijuana use is up in America and support for legalization is at an all-time high.

According to the CBS News poll, 56 percent of Americans support legalization, up three points from the previous year.

As cannabis lovers celebrate 4/20, Greg Gutfeld warned there's "a price to pay for things that indulge human weakness."

"Legalization won't turn you into a pothead," he said. "But ambivalence and lethargy will, and pot loves that stuff."

Gutfeld said that pot is "inert, but we've used it to enable our sloth."

He said the drug makes for an "easy detour" from productivity.

"The best things in life are often best as frosting, not cake. An exec doesn't have a martini in the morning -- he has it after work. Alcohol always tastes better once you've earned it. Why should pot be any different?"
