Furious Mom Posts Video of 5-Year-Old Son Being Paddled at School

This Little Girl's Day Was Ruined by the News That a Brother Was Coming

Haitan refugee Orlando Morel was rescued by the Coast Guard off the coast of Florida when he was just six years old. Now, 22 years later, he serves as a naval engineer.

After his mother passed away from cancer three months into their arrival in the U.S., young Orlando was adopted by a retired Navy petty officer. At the age of 24, he enlisted in the Coast Guard Academy and took part in search-and-rescues near Haiti.

After becoming a naval engineer, he met the woman who would become the love of his life, civilian Coast Guard employee Shameeka Edwards.

When Orlando popped the question to Shameeka during a tour of the White House, Judah Avenue Photography was there to capture the moment.

Learn more about their story, with more photos of that beautiful moment, here.
