NEW POLL: Trump Widens Lead in GOP Race; Clinton-Sanders Tightens

Former NRA President: Hillary Is 'Courting Real Danger' With Gun Comments

Former New York Gov. George Pataki announced "On the Record" that he's endorsing Republican Ohio Gov. John Kasich for president.

Pataki said Kasich is the best choice to defeat Hillary Clinton in November.

"John Kasich is the candidate who doesn't just beat Hillary Clinton -- he trounces her and will help us to regain Washington," the former New York governor told Greta Van Susteren.

Pataki also said that Kasich's experience qualifies him to be an effective president.

"Our country is divided, not because of the people but because of the politicians. And John Kasich has a history of bringing people together and governing successfully.

So, he will win this race if he's our nominee and if he gets that chance he will be an excellent president who moves America forward together."

Pataki also said that he felt Donald Trump should not be president.
