An adorable 9-year-old girl has managed to beat the local media on a murder story in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.

Hilde Lysiak told viewers how she managed to land the scoop in a video posted to her online platform, Orange Street News.

“I got the tip from a good source that I was able to confirm,” she explained carefully.

“I worked very hard. Because of my work, I was able to inform the people that there was a terrible murder, hours before my competition even got to the scene.”

But like any recognized journalist, Hilde has her fair share of haters.

She said that some viewers have been sending her mean messages, including one that said “9-year-old girls should be playing with dolls, not trying to be reporters.”

The budding journalist responded to those critics.

“I know some of you just want me to sit down and be quiet, because I’m nine,” she said.

“But if you want me to stop covering news, then you get off your computer and do something about the news. There. Is that cute enough for you?”
