A Los Angeles man has been charged after he allegedly left his 9-month-old daughter in the car to check out a strip club, authorities say.

Auwin Dargin pleaded not guilty to one count of child abuse on Monday, according to The L.A. Times.

The 24-year-old father is facing up to six years in prison if convicted.

Dargin was arrested after an employee of the gentleman’s club said he heard the baby crying outside while the dad got a lap dance.

“We hear crying and then we saw a baby in the car,” Matthew Nadeau told the Times.

The newspaper reported:

“Nadeau enlisted the help of his cousin, who squeezed his arm through the cracked window and quickly unlocked the car.

Nadeau removed the crying baby from her car seat and handed her to the waitress who fetched a cup of water. The baby was warm and visibly upset, he said.

Dargin was in the middle of receiving a lap dance when the manager stepped in and stopped the action to notify him that they had just found his baby, he said.

Dargin was angry that the manager stopped the dance.

Dargin left the club saying, ‘Just give me my baby and I know I am messing up,’ Nadeau said.”

When the employee refused to give him his baby and called the police, Dargin apparently ran away.

He was quickly found by the LAPD and taken into custody.
