This adorable dog in Michigan is getting a much-needed pick-me-up in the last days of his life.

Things haven’t been easy for Buddy, a 14-year-old senior Lab mix. A few weeks ago, he unexpectedly lost his owner and was put up for adoption.

“He was very depressed and needed a home and some love,” his new owner, Loren, wrote on Facebook.

Buddy then found out he has cancer.

Loren wanted to make sure Buddy could live out his remaining days with joy.

So she and her fellow rescue volunteers created what they call “Buddy’s Bucket List” - from eating an entire box of treats for dinner to getting his very own Easter card!

Lucky for us, we get to follow along. Buddy even got to become an honorary firehouse dog for the day, and go on a very special puppy date!

“He is an absolutely loving and wonderful dog,” Loren wrote.

“I know that the time here he has left is very short, but I want to get the message out about how important it is to show these animals love and compassion in their golden years.”
