Pete Hegseth Visits First Muslim-Majority U.S. City
Hamtramck, Michigan, has become the first Muslim-majority city in the United States.
In 1970, the population of Hamtramck was 90 percent Polish Catholic, even hosting Pope John Paul II to a papal visit in 1987. That population is now down to 11 percent.
Pete Hegseth visited the town of 22,000 - 40 percent of which are immigrants.
He wanted to see how the Muslim residents are assimilating with the community that came before and what the future of the city may hold.
