Police Investigating After Mom Posts Facebook Photo of Duct-Taped Toddlers

A Texas mom says she was violated of her right to breastfeed after a waitress at a restaurant covered her up with a napkin.

Dylan Downing says she was discreetly feeding her two-month-old baby Mason at a sushi bar last week when her server walked over and placed a cloth napkin over her.

“I ripped it off and said, ‘Why are you touching me and covering my child,’” she told KHOU 11 News.

The waitress, Rattana, also recounted the exchange to a reporter.

“Right away I thought, ‘Oh my gosh, I should have asked her first,’” she said.

The server said she only did so after three men sitting nearby had complained, saying they were uncomfortable. She apologized.

But Downing said she wants people to understand that breastfeeding in public is both legal and acceptable.

She didn’t tip the waitress, and left a note on the receipt saying, “Do not touch breastfeeding women!”

“I don’t understand what the big deal is,” Downing said. “It's just a boob. Look away. You can see them for free on the Internet. I'm just feeding my kid.”
