Trump's Primary Consultant on Foreign Policy Is Himself? 'No Way,' Says Ben Carson
Dr. Ben Carson appeared on "The Real Story" today to react to Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump saying that his primary consultant on foreign policy is himself.
"I’m speaking with myself, number one, because I have a very good brain," Trump said on MSNBC’s "Morning Joe." "I know what I’m doing and I listen to a lot of people, I talk to a lot of people. And at the appropriate time, I’ll tell you who the people are. But my primary consultant is myself, and I have a good instinct for this stuff."
Carson, who officially endorsed Trump last Friday, said that he's confident after conversations with the billionaire businessman that he will make policy decisions based on the opinions of experts.
"You can take that to the bank," Carson said. "There's no way he's just going to be making off-hand decisions by himself."
Gretchen Carlson pointed out Carson said in a recent interview that he would have preferred to back another candidate, but that's not how the campaign turned out.
Carson clarified that the preferred candidate he was referring to was himself.
"It wasn't somebody else," Carson said. "I think of the choices that we have right now, he is by far the best and the most likely to win."
The retired neurosurgeon explained that he doesn't see a path to the GOP nomination for John Kasich, while Ted Cruz is unappealing to moderate or more left-leaning voters.
