Eight firefighters were injured when a house collapsed around them as they battled a raging fire in Germantown, Maryland.

Firefighters were called to the 3-alarm fire early Monday morning. When they arrived, they found a townhome completely engulfed in flames.

Video from the scene shows firefighters battling the fire from the front of the home when the front wall collapses on top of them. Police and fire crews rush to help the trapped firefighters.

"The wall, the partial front of the wall, had fallen on the firefighters as they were engaged in firefighting operation," Pete Piringer, spokesman with  Montgomery County Fire and Rescue, said.

All of the firefighters were rescued and taken to the hospital. All but one were treated and released.

Piringer said that one firefighter sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the blaze has not yet been released.
