Retired neurosurgeon and former Republican candidate Ben Carson endorsed Donald Trump at a Trump campaign event in Palm Beach, Florida, today.

Carson said that even though he and Trump had their disagreements on the campaign trail, they've buried the hatchet, since that is simply part of the political process.

"We move on, because it's not about me. It's not about Mr. Trump. It's about America," Carson said.

He explained that he's discovered much more alignment with Trump - both spiritually and philosophically - than he originally thought.

"That actually surprised me more than anything, because I do recognize how a person's image can be greatly distorted, having been the victim of that," Carson said. "I probably understand it better than anybody."

Carson joins Neil Cavuto on "Your World" today at 4p ET on Fox News Channel.
