A Powerful Message From a Married Police Officer Couple Is Going Viral

Virginia Tech basketball coach Buzz Williams wanted his players to recognize the importance of the national anthem, so he brought in some special guests: veterans.

A video, which was originally posted in the fall but just recently went viral, shows the team lining up across from vets and war heroes as Williams explains their sacrifice, the obstacles they had to overcome and the importance of their service.

"When we stand we're going to put out right hand over our heart and our left hand behind our back. And we're not moving," Williams told his players while demonstrating how to stand at attention during "The Star-Spangled Banner."

"These guys, when they were your age, interrupted their life, they paused their education, they changed their career," Williams said. “So when the anthem is played, we’re going to stand like grown men and we’re going to honor men like this."
