A would-be robber in Pennsylvania pulled a gun on a taxi driver and demanded all his money. The only problem for the robber? A sheriff's deputy was right behind him.

Surveillance video shows Victor Martinez-Herrera, 18, enter the backseat of a Reading Metro cab and put a gun to the head of driver Ralpha Valletta.

"Give me all your money, man! Give me everything you got," Martinez-Herrera yells. "I need it all right now if you don't want to die."

As the panicked driver tells him he just started his shift and has no money, he fails to move forward when the traffic light turns green.

Berks County Sheriff's Deputy Deputy Terry Ely pulls behind the stalled cab and exits his cruiser.

Valletta notices the deputy approaching and tells Martinez-Herrera, "There's a cop behind us."

The surprised robber apparently tries to get out of the taxi and run as Ely asks if there's a problem.

Seeing the weapon - which turned out to be a pellet gun - Ely draws his firearm, orders Martinez-Herrera out of the taxi then calls for backup.

The cab driver can be heard telling Ely, "You're a lifesaver!"

Martinez-Herrera is being held on charges including robbery and terroristic threats.
