Trump: We've Actually 'Made Progress' With Mexico on the Wall
Contrary to what you might think, the former Mexican president’s fiery vow to not “pay” for Donald Trump’s proposed wall show “progress,” said the GOP presidential candidate.
Mexico’s former President Vicente Fox recently sparked controversy for saying “I am not going to pay for that f-ing wall.”
But that comment is already a departure from what Mexican leaders used to say about the suggested U.S.-Mexico wall, Trump said in an exclusive hour-long interview tonight on Hannity.
“What he ultimately said is, ‘We’re not going to finance it. We’re not going to pay for it.’ And I said to myself, ‘Wow, we’ve made progress,’” the Republican front-runner told Sean.
Before, “they would never agree to it,” he continued. “Now, they’re saying they’re not gonna pay for it. They will pay for the wall.”
Writing a check would not be politically “feasible,” Trump acknowleged.
But "there’s many different ways” to make concessions, he said.
"We're gonna build the wall, they're gonna pay for the wall."
