'I'm Really Very Conservative': Trump Responds to Critics
One of the biggest arguments of critics who oppose Donald Trump is that he’s not a “true conservative.”
The GOP front-runner told Sean Hannity today why that isn’t true.
“I don’t like labels necessarily, because a label doesn’t mean very much,” he said. “But when it comes to being conservative, I happen to be conservative.”
In a wide-ranging interview on Hannity, Trump explained how his positions on energy, the military and trade are characteristically conservative.
“Nobody is more conservative when it comes to trade than I am,” he said. “I want to make sure that the United States gains something.”
“We want smart trade. We want trade that’s going to be beneficial for us, not just suck all our jobs and our money out of our system.”
Trump also vowed to “repeal and replace Obamacare,” saying “there are lots of alternatives” that would better serve the country.
“I mean, there are so many different things,” he said. “I’m really very conservative when you get right down to it.”
