Warning: This story may bring a tear to your eye.

A public memorial service was held in North Texas today to honor a beloved police officer killed in the line of duty.

But as videos and photos began to pour out online, it soon became clear you didn’t have to be in the Lone Star State to witness the incredible love and support being shown for Officer David Hofer.

At least 12 different law enforcement agencies were represented this Saturday in an emotional funeral procession that included a 21-gun salute, bagpipes and a flyover aerial salute, according to Fox 4.

Officer Hofer was shot dead on Tuesday while responding to a call about an armed suspect in a Dallas-area park.

He had served with the NYPD for five years before joining the Euless Police Department in Texas, where he worked for another two years.

The officer was also recently engaged. Since his tragic death, tens of thousands of dollars have been raised for his fiancé, Marta Danylyk.
