Cruz: 'Establishment in a Fevered Frenzy to Get Brokered Convention'
Sean Hannity joined Ted Cruz on the CPAC stage to talk about last night's Republican debate and the state of the Texas senator's campaign.
Cruz said that 65-70% of Republicans recognize that Donald Trump is not the best candidate to go head-to-head with Hillary Clinton.
"If Donald is our nominee, in all likelihood, Hillary wins, we lose the Supreme Court for a generation, the Bill of Rights is lost, we're buried in debt, and jihadists rise across the globe," Cruz said.
He said that Republicans who want an alternative to Trump must unite, and that the results of Super Tuesday demonstrated that Cruz is the candidate to lead the effort to overtake him.
"Super Tuesday made clear that only one campaign has repeatedly beaten Donald Trump, and only one campaign can and will beat Donald Trump," he said.
Cruz said that the "Washington establishment" is in a "fevered frenzy" to take the primary process to a brokered convention, where the "DC power brokers" will drop in their chosen candidate.
"If that would happen, we will have a manifest revolt on our hands all across this country," he said.
"And so if you want to beat Donald Trump, you beat Donald Trump with the voters!"
