Carson Suspends Campaign: 'I'm Leaving the Campaign Trail'

TUNE IN: Clinton to Join Sanders at 'Special Report' Town Hall on Monday

Dr. Ben Carson went "On the Record" just before suspending his campaign at CPAC.

Carson told Greta Van Susteren that he has not yet thrown his support behind a single candidate.

"I've committed, Greta, to not endorsing a specific person, but rather endorsing 'We the People,' and looking at our ability as intelligent human beings to use the correct criteria to make an informed choice. Because as our founders said, our nation, our freedom depends upon the well-informed and educated populace. And if they ever become anything other than that, the nature of the country will change."

Carson said he believes Americans have the capacity to choose the best candidate.

"If we have time to watch Dancing With the Stars and watch the football game, then we certainly have time to examine people's policies and what their ideas are."

Carson said he will make an endorsement down the line.

He said that he won't be "disappearing from the scene, and will continue to work extremely hard for the next generations of America."
