Facebook Videos Show KS Mass Shooter; Attack Stopped by Heroic Officer

CA Cops Spent 3 Hours Chasing This 'Unicorn' Around

The heroic Kansas police officer who ran into a factory to stop a mass shooting on Thursday has now been identified as Hesston Police Chief Doug Schroeder.

Officials say Chief Schroeder “seized the situation” when he ran into the Excel Industries building in Hesston, where a man had killed three people and wounded 14.

Gov. Sam Brownback said that Schroeder “went in immediately” and shot and killed the gunman, 38-year-old Cedric Ford.

According to reports, Schroeder has been on the job since 1998.

Authorities say his brave actions on Thursday helped save dozens of lives.

“This man wasn’t going to stop shooting,” Harvey County Sheriff T. Walton told the Wichita Eagle. “The only reason he stopped shooting is the officer stopped the shooter.”

“Rather than even waiting on backup, he went right in and did heroic duty and service,” Gov. Brownback said.

Meanwhile, Ford’s former girlfriend, Sarah Hopkins, has been charged with buying the guns he used in the attack.

Disturbing video has also surfaced online, showing Ford at shooting practice just months before the attack.
