Dad Arrives at Daycare to Find Son All Alone on Playground

A 3-Year-Old Boy Wandered Off from Day Care & Walked Home Alone

A New York City public school teacher was arrested for allegedly throwing a second-grader across a hallway.

According to the New York Post, the alleged attack on the seven-year-old boy by 53-year-old Osman Couey was caught on video.

Incredibly, Couey was reportedly only reprimanded in 2013 after being accused of throwing a 7-year-old special needs student down a flight of stairs.

Couey, a teacher at PS 194 in Harlem since 1993, has four letters of reprimand on his record, the Post reported.

In an interview with WABC-TV, the mother of the boy who was the victim of the latest assault alleges that the school waited a month to tell her about the incident.

She says her son now has trouble sleeping since the alleged attack.

The Department of Education issued the following statement:

"This behavior is deeply troubling, and we are seeking to terminate this teacher's employment. He has been removed from the classroom and reassigned away from students."
