O'Reilly: GOP Establishment Has Been Wrong About Trump All Along
In his Talking Points Memo tonight, Bill O'Reilly said that the effectiveness of Donald Trump's populist message is bad news for the Republican Party establishment.
After Trump's easy victory in yesterday's Nevada caucus, some in the media are saying that him winning the GOP presidential nomination is a lock, O'Reilly said.
"That is not good news for the Republican Party establishment , which does not see Mr. Trump as a worthy candidate, one who can defeat Hillary Clinton," O'Reilly said. "But the establishment has been wrong all along."
O'Reilly said that the establishment has tried to marginalize Trump from the beginning, and as his campaign has continued to surge, they simply don't know what to do.
He explained that Trump has dominated the 2016 race because of his populist message, which has mobilized Americans who never cared about the political process in the past.
"In the end, Donald Trump doesn't care about politics, he doesn't care about parties, he does not care about elites, he does not care about what he says in attacking opponents. He only cares about one thing: winning."
