MasterCard Will Let You Pay for Stuff by Taking a Selfie
MasterCard wants to see your selfies.
The credit card company announced it will allow customers to verify their purchases using selfies or fingerprints as an alternative to written passwords.
Customers would use a special MasterCard app that takes their picture each time they make an online purchase.
The app will scan the customer’s face, or fingerprint, to prove that they’re making a purchase.
MasterCard’s security chief claims the new technology is more secure than the traditional password method.
Look for it this summer.
