Strangers Form Human Chain to Save Trucker on Cliff's Edge

A nun on Saturday rushed to the rescue of a 74-year-old man who was stuck under a fallen tree.

Fire officials in Wrentham, Massachusetts say that the man had been chopping down trees in the woods behind his home when one fell on him, pinning him to the ground.

A group of nuns at the nearby Mount St. Mary’s Abbey heard the man’s cries for help while preparing for their afternoon prayers.

One of them walked out to the woods to investigate. Realizing they would be needing more help, she ran back to call 911.

The man was treated for hypothermia and leg injuries at a Boston hospital, and is now reportedly doing fine.

But Capt. Bob Harrison of the Wrentham Fire Department says the nun’s rescue came just in the nick of time, saying that had she not found the man, he would not have been able to last through the night.

“How lucky was he to have somebody like that looking over him?” he said.
