See Krauthammer's Winners of the Fox News GOP Debate in Iowa
Charles Krauthammer singled out Jeb Bush and Chris Christie as the winners of tonight's GOP debate in Iowa.
Krauthammer said the seventh debate of the campaign was more substantive, without the personal attacks of past debates.
"I'll leave it to the viewers to figure out why," he quipped.
Krauthammer said he thought Jeb Bush got the better of Marco Rubio in a key exchange about illegal immigration.
And he said the former Florida governor was "very strong" and may have had the best night of the group.
Krauthammer said Christie didn't have one big moment, but also did very well. He applauded the New Jersey governor for the moment below, where he slammed Rubio and Cruz for their past contradictions on illegal immigration.
He also pointed out the moment when Kelly asked both Rubio and Cruz about contradictions on illegal immigration, using past video statements.
Krauthammer said Rubio had his "rockiest night" so far and that Rubio had a "hard time arguing his way out of that box."
He added that in his opinion, Cruz "riggled out of it" a little better than Rubio did.
Krauthammer concluded by expressing surprise at how few attacks on Trump there were given the frontrunner's absence.
