'Elephant in the Room': Palin Defends Son After Domestic Violence Arrest
Sarah Palin addressed the latest news surrounding her son today, speaking at a Donald Trump rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Reports emerged yesterday that Track Palin, 26, was arrested in a domestic violence case and is accused of kicking and punching his girlfriend.
The woman also told authorities that he had a gun and was threatening to shoot himself, according to court documents.
Palin raised the subject of her son, calling it the "elephant in the room," by discussing what she sees as the mistreatment of Wounded Warriors.
She said that after Track saw combat as part of a Stryker Brigade, he returned home from Iraq a "a bit different" and "hardened."
“I can certainly relate with other families who kind of feel these ramifications of some PTSD and some of the wounded-ness that our soldiers do return with,” she said.
Palin added that returning soldiers "come back wondering if there is that respect" for the sacrifices they made and that they need a "commander-in-chief who will respect them.”
