Hundreds Attend Memorial Service for K9 Killed in the Line of Duty
Police officers from across the country gathered Thursday to honor a fallen four-legged hero.
Jethro, a K9 unit with the Canton, Ohio, Police Department was shot in the line of duty Saturday, dying from his injuries on Sunday.
Jethro's handler, Officer Ryan Davis, credits the brave dog with saving his life during the burglary attempt, which ended up claiming Jethro's life.
Officers from all over Northeast Ohio, Illinois and New York were among those who paid their respects to Jethro.
The suspected burglar and shooter, 22-year-old Kelonte Barefield, is being held in the Stark County Jail. His bond was set at $5 million.
