Viral Reality Star: Son Takes Me on Dates to Learn How to Treat Women
An MTV reality star made headlines with a post on Facebook about her monthly dinner dates with her young son.
Nikkole Paulun of “16 and Pregnant” said six-year-old Lyle opens doors, pulls out chairs and pays the bill with his allowance. Cell phones are not allowed at the table.
She explained that it's all aimed at teaching him manners and how to treat women.
The mother of two wrote, "It's never too early to teach your child how to properly respect others, especially women. As a woman who has been abused & treated like crap in the past, it's extremely important to me that I teach my son how to show respect. Too many men these days have no idea how to treat women or how to take them on a nice date. It's nice to know my son won't be one of them."
Most commenters applauded Paulun, but not everyone was onboard with her efforts to teach her son some chivalry.
“While this is a lovely idea, I don’t like the idea that you make your son spend money he earns by doing chores on taking you for dinner. I get the idea behind it, but it’s a little unfair to suggest that unless you make him do that then he’ll turn out to be a bad guy when it comes to women," Chloe Henry wrote.
Paulun responded that Lyle likes the "dates" with mom and prefers it over going to buy a toy.
The Outnumbered hosts - joined by Jesse Watters - gave their opinions this afternoon.
Sandra Smith said she doesn't like when parents criticize other parents because each person has their own methods.
FBN's Elizabeth MacDonald said the headline of "date with mommy" is sort of creepy and weird.
Watters, a father of twin girls, joked that when he comes home from work, his daughters "bring me my slippers and pipe."
