GOOD NEWS Mark Hamill Skips 'Star Wars' Talk Show Appearance to Visit Children's Hospital
“Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill skipped a recent promotional appearance for “The Force Awakens” to visit sick kids at a well-known British hospital.
The actor, who portrays Luke Skywalker in the films, posted an image from the visit to his social media accounts.
It shows a young boy he identifies as “Oscar” listening to his heart with a toy stethoscope.
At the time, the other cast members of the new “Star Wars” flick were taping an appearance on “The Graham Norton Show,” Hamill told The Independent newspaper.
He said: “Star Wars movies are meant to be a couple of hours of diversion from reality, and we need that. They are optimistic and hopeful stories. But in comparison to what we can do with this [the hospital], last night [the premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens] is very trivial.”
@HamillHimself Thanks so much for coming to visit our patients Mark - everyone absolutely loved it :)
