Frank Luntz Focus Group Picks Their Big Winners of the GOP Debate
During a live, post-debate "Kelly File," Frank Luntz spoke to a focus group of voters who revealed that Ted Cruz and Chris Christie were their big winners on the night.
The participants were in near-unanimous agreement that Ted Cruz was very impressive.
Some words the focus group used to describe the Texas senator were "believable," "truthful," "presidential," "commanding" and "a clear rising star."
"We are sick of weakness in the White House," one man said. "We're looking for somebody strong ... Ted Cruz is both strong and, in my opinion, he was very precise."
Multiple members of the focus group applauded Cruz for his strong stance on terrorism and for explicitly stating that, if elected, he will "hunt down and kill the terrorists."
As for the other big winner, some words used to describe Christie were "highly confident," "on-point," "experienced" and "tells it like he sees it."
The New Jersey governor got extremely high numbers when he criticized the endless debates and inaction of the U.S. Senate.
"He's saying exactly what we're thinking," one woman explained. "These debates are becoming a fight, and that's not what we want to see. We want to see what the candidates think about the real issues."
