Krauthammer: Obama's Still Trying to Convince Us That We're Winning Against ISIS
On "Special Report" tonight, Charles Krauthammer said that President Obama's proclamation that "we are hitting (ISIS) harder than ever" is just another example of the president trying to put a positive spin on the fight against the terror group.
"His problem is that he's trying to convince us that we are actually prevailing, winning, pushing in on ISIS," Krauthammer said. "[ISIS] has obviously expanded."
Krauthammer pointed to recent terror attacks in Beirut, Paris and San Bernardino, in addition to ISIS developing a "colony" in the Libyan city of Sirte.
"And Obama is still trying to convince us that we are winning, when it's obviously not true," Krauthammer said.
He added that Obama resorting to reciting statistics and running down a list of ISIS commanders we have killed is reminiscent of a strategy used during the Vietnam War.
"We would announce the body counts, the ratio of the dead Vietcong to Americans," Krauthammer explained. "And it was always lopsided. And we lost the damn war, because that's not how you gauge who's winning and losing in such a war."
