GOOD NEWS Ronda Rousey Keeps Promise, Attends Marine Corps Ball
This story proves you don't need a title belt to be a champion.
UFC superstar Ronda Rousey kept her promise and accompanied U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Jarrod Haschert to his Marine Corps Ball in South Carolina on Friday.
Haschert sent Rousey a message back in September asking if she would be his date, which quickly went viral, and Rousey agreed.
Following Rousey's devastating knockout loss to Holly Holm last month, many wondered whether she would indeed follow through, but she kept her word and was there for Haschert and the other Marines.
Rousey's team wanted to keep her appearance at the ball under wraps to avoid turning it into a publicity stunt, but TMZ approached her as she was heading to the airport on her way to South Carolina.
"Honestly, I probably would stay on my couch crying and eating ice cream for another month if he didn't ask me," Rousey said.
Rousey posted a photo from the ball to her Instagram account, thanking Haschert for being a gentleman and putting a smile on her face again.
