Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina appeared on "America's Newsroom" to weigh in on Donald Trump's recent proposal to prevent Muslims from entering the U.S.

Fiorina said that Trump's "overreaction is as dangerous as Barack Obama's underreaction."

She said both men's proposals trample on our constitutional rights: Obama on the Second Amendment by wanting to pass gun control measures, and Trump on the First Amendment by wanting to hold a religious test.

Fiorina said she supports "sensible proposals" on national security floated by lawmakers Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ar) and Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Tx).

She touted herself as a "conservative outsider" and said we have settled for an incompetent government for too long.

"Yes, let's make it competent. Let's protect the homeland. But let's not violate our Constitution in the process."

When the conversation turned to Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, Fiorina said she was the "lump of coal in her stocking."
