A track hoe operator narrowly escaped death or even injury when a smoke stack fell on him during a demolition gone horribly wrong.

The historic smokestack at the old Avondale Mills site in Pell City, Alabama, came crashing down after two attempts using TNT failed and experts took the track hoe to the structure.

All the tractor's driver could do to shield himself was turn 90 degrees as thousands of pounds of bricks collapsed on top of him.

Miraculously, the driver walked away with just a few scratches.

A drone captured the terrifying incident on video. Watch it above.
