WATCH: Dashcam Footage Shows Texas Police Chase Down Clever Cow

A Tulane University medical student was shot when he tried to save a woman under attack in New Orleans.

The horrible encounter was caught on surveillance video.

Warning: Disturbing content.

It shows 25-year-old Peter Gold being shot in the stomach after he approached the hooded criminal in the street.

The gunman tries to shoot Gold a second time with an execution-style shot aimed at his head.

But thankfully, the weapon jammed.

The suspect got away with the woman's purse. Gold is expected to recover.

Tulane is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the suspect's arrest.

UPDATE: New Orleans police have identified the suspect as 21-year-old Euric Cain.

He's wanted on charges of attempted first degree murder, second degree kidnapping and armed robbery.
