Stuart Varney got into it this morning with a Democrat who voted against the House bill that places a pause on the United States accepting Syrian refugees.

President Obama has said he will veto the legislation, which was passed Thursday by a margin of 289-137 with the support of 47 Democrats.

One of the "no" votes was from Democrat Seth Moulton of Massachusetts, a U.S. Marine who took in his former translator that served with his unit in Iraq.

He argued to Varney that the bill will become a propaganda tool for ISIS, helping them recruit and radicalize people who are already in the U.S.

"This is playing right into ISIS's hands," said Moulton, adding that his side is the one trying to make America safer.

Varney called it "illogical" to claim that accepting Syrian refugees will "de-radicalize" people.

He also pointed out that the bill temporarily halts the flow of refugees while the vetting procedures are strengthened.

Moulton answered that proper vetting is already being performed. He said ISIS will seize on the bill to argue that long-held American values don't apply to Muslims.

"Wait a second!," Varney interjected. "If one of those people comes into America, that you want to bring in here, and one of them kills an American, will you take responsibility for that!?" he asked.
