In her "Off the Record" commentary tonight, Greta Van Susteren reacted to an opinion piece from The Hill titled "SNL must dump Trump."

Alvaro Huerta wrote that Trump is "racist" and "inhumane" for his comments about Mexican immigrants, accusing "Saturday Night Live" of legitimizing and reinforcing Trump's "racist narrative" by letting him host on November 7.

Greta pointed out that both Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin have previously appeared on the late-night sketch program.

"Both women are also high-profile politicians, and both have said things that lots of people don't like or don't agree with. But there was no clamor to shut them down from doing the entertainment show," Greta said.

She explained that's because the American people respect the First Amendment.

"Don't shut Trump down, and don't bully the network. The First Amendment belongs to everyone. It's not always pretty, but it sure is important."
