Cell phone video shows police officers being attacked by high school students during an after-school brawl in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

In one particularly shocking moment, a student can be seen throwing punches at a female officer who's on her back on the ground.

Police said they were responding to reports of a massive brawl near the school and that some students turned on officers as they tried to pull fighters apart.

Four officers were injured during the melee, including at least one officer who suffered a concussion.

Five students were arrested and charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, disorderly conduct, and rioting.

On "Fox and Friends," former Homicide Detective Rod Wheeler reacted to the video, saying it shows children who've been taught by society to hate police.

"They see where police officers are disrespected by politicians, by elected officials. So they see that and they know they can get away with certain behavior."

Wheeler said absent parents are also a key part of the problem.

"Until the parents are held accountable for the actions of their children, this will continue to happen," Wheeler said.
