NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon surprised one of his biggest fans this week with the gift of a lifetime.

Gordon gave the fan, a woman named Loraine, his personal 2003 Jeff Gordon Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS after learning that she had lost the same car in a fire.

She’d managed to save the Jeff Gordon tag, later giving to him to sign at a VIP event at Sonoma Raceway, Gordon said on his YouTube page.

Local station WTHR-TV reports that the NASCAR driver asked Loraine to meet him at a car dealership in Charlotte, N.C. to look at his personal car, which had only 124 miles on it.

“It broke my heart when I saw that you had this car and it caught fire and burned down,” he told her. “I know if you have this car, you’re definitely one of my biggest fans.”

“We’re going to get this to you at a pretty good price,” he continued. “How about zero?”

Gordon, who is retiring from NASCAR after the season, called it a “pretty awesome day.”

“Thanks to Loraine and everyone who has shown their support over the years,” he wrote on Twitter.
