At a town hall meeting in South Carolina over the weekend, Jeb Bush reacted to Donald Trump's repeated personal attacks.

"I've got a lot of really cool things I could do other than sit around, being miserable, listening to people demonize me and me feeling compelled to demonize them. That is a joke. Elect Trump if you want that," Bush said.

Charles Krauthammer said on "Special Report" tonight that Bush's response was petulant and pathetic.

"This is not not very presidential," Krauthammer stated. "I think in some ways it was inadvertently rather revealing, and it's sort of symbolic of the weakness he's projected."

He added that Ben Carson's refusal to get in the "mud pit" with his GOP rivals was a much more impressive response to Trump's attacks.

"You can see why Carson is running about three times ahead of where Bush is," Krauthammer said. "Carson is completely self-contained, and he's very calm."
