Husband of the year? If not, then he's right up there.

Ed Zamora surprised his wife of 33 years as she returned from a two-week trip to Spain, serenading her with the Louis Armstrong classic “What a Wonderful World” and giving her flowers.

Zamora, a retired band director, played the tune while his wife, Melody, came down the escalator to baggage claim. He got some applause from onlookers when Melody arrived and they embraced.

The kicker? A woman telling Melody, "he sounds like a keeper to me!"

Zamora told TODAY that the song holds a special place in their hearts, having been a favorite of his wife's late mother.

"We played it at her service, and whenever we hear it, we think of her," Zamora said. "We've traveled all over the world and every time we go someplace, someone is playing that song. It's become our song."
