Secretary of State John Kerry went "On The Record" with Greta Van Susteren for a must-see interview.

Kerry weighed in on a variety of topics, including Russian President Vladimir Putin increasing his country's involvement in Syria and the Middle East.

"Putin now has put himself in the center of a problem," Kerry said. "He's there. He's on the ground now. He says he's going to be there to fight ISIL."

Kerry said that if Putin doesn't have the support of Sunni Muslims, he's never going to succeed in that fight.

"He may wind up in a very serious situation. The only problem is, it also means that Syria goes downhill."
