Any parent knows that air travel with a baby can turn into a harrowing experience. A crying baby can also be exasperating for other passengers.

Maybe that's why this encounter between a young Michigan mom and a very understanding stranger is quickly going viral.

Rebekka Garvison explained on Facebook that when she boarded her flight from Chicago to Atlanta with her baby daughter, Rylee, she was seated next to a couple who obviously appeared "annoyed."

So the flight attendant allowed her to move into a row that had two empty seats next to Nyfesha Miller, who was seated by the window.

Rather than complain or give a "why me?" look, Miller decided to help out. At one point, she offered to hold the crying Rylee, hoping that the window might calm her down. It did.

Rylee fell asleep right on the stranger's lap. Then Miller dozed off right along with her.

Garvison's photo post on Facebook has now been shared more than 85,000 times and counting...

Miller told she was shocked to see her act of kindness get such an amazing response.

Miller, who has three children and a stepchild of her own, admitted she initially thought, "oh my gosh, how did this happen to me?" when Rebekka and Riley sat down.

But she quickly realized that the stressed-out mom was in desperate need of a helping hand.

"I thought: 'Baby feels what mom is feeling, and baby is not going to stop crying. If I don't help her, that baby is going to be crying the entire flight.'"

You guys...I'm SO overwhelmed with happiness. I would have never imagined this to be shared as much as it has been. I...
