A Missouri family is telling the incredible story of their three-year-old daughter's brush with death in a swimming pool accident.

Alise Nipper was found unresponsive in a backyard swimming pool during a July 29 party in Cape Girardeau. Her mother, Jamie, and a friend frantically performed CPR while others cried out in prayer.

After 12 agonizing minutes, Alise woke up in her mother's arms, as her heart started to beat again.

She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but even more amazingly, Alise's condition improved rapidly and she went home after just a few weeks.

Doctors said they were "astounded" by the girl's survival and recovery given the level of trauma her body endured, crediting "prayer, luck and Divine intervention."

KFVS reported:

After six days in the hospital, Alise began to improve.

"When they decreased sedation and she woke up and was talking, it was absolutely amazing," said Kyle.

They removed the ventilator, and Alise not only talked, she sang. After two weeks, Alise got to go home.

"The day we left it was surreal, I felt like I can't believe we lived through this," said Jamie Nipper.

Alise blew everyone away with how the accident hardly phased her both mentally and physically.

"His [God's] hand was in it the entire time because there is no earthly, physical, rational way that little girl is running around and talking less than two weeks later," said Rowles.

The family started a Facebook page immediately after the accident, called Boldy Pray for Alise. In one post late last month, the family explained how far Alise had come, amazing her physical therapists.

I have some pretty amazing news I would like to share about Alise's recovery. She has taken tests during her outpatient...

Recently, the family shared some heartwarming photos showing Alise starting gymnastics.

Jamie Nipper said she wants to share her daughter's story to prompt parents to realize how important it is to undergo CPR training.
